Christmas and Then some… September product picks

Posted August 30, 2015 By scrappy

Thinking Christmas in September?  Of course I am.   You have to love a suite of products that can put together beautiful cards, tags, wrappings and scrapbook pages for CHRISTMAS to get a head start on the holidays, BUT also do double duty to support paper crafting designs ANY time of year.  Tree’s do this and then some.  Tree punch – always, Festival of trees stamps set (xmas tree stamps and greetings, of course – BUT also generic for any season) and marry up with the tiny triangles embossing folder – supports this basic tree shape as well as a multitude of other designs.  Linked these picks on my home page.

If you’ve not visited my Tips and Tricks tab, you need to from time to time – as I’m creating my youtube video’s and articles, I sometimes just pick out some ‘gems’ that have very little to do with the technique or design that I’m working on at the time – just really great ideas that are generic to whatever you’re working on.

2015-2017 In-Color Collection

Posted July 3, 2015 By scrappy

For us old-timers it is sometimes difficult to embrace the new color collection that comes out each year.  First off: you lose a collection that you’ve been working with for 2 years…. on the other hand – I’ve had a month to consider how these new colors will add to my projects.   As I post on my home page, this 2015-17 collection, is split between bright (2 colors – Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush) and muted (Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron – not sure about the spelling on that one – oops, an SU faux pas – and the Delightful Dijon, – which is a very nice replacement for the oldie, but goodie “More Mustard” from years ago).  Product picks (quick links) for July is building the essentials into your collection – check out on my home page.  Plenty of projects to post using this new collection.

Website spam kept me from coming back

Posted June 3, 2015 By scrappy

Yes, I’ve been continuing with my youtube videos, have several new serial videos – BUT have been inundated with trash on this website.  Just spent the better part of an afternoon deleting spam, so hoping I can get back to posting articles and linking video’s.  don’t plan on backtracking with what I’ve released during my website blackout – BUT have updated my June product picks with some great selections.  Still tons of stuff to share!

Paper Crafts

Posted February 5, 2015 By scrappy

For this month, I’m getting into designing with my punches.   The quick links to my picks are 3 of my favorites (home page) – but the video’s: design and techniques are going to be about using what you probably already have in your personal stash.  The first project uses your punches in your card making to create negative space which you can design around, the shape of the punch set’s the stage for the rest of your design.  Take a look on the latest article under paper crafts.

Postage Edge punching

Posted February 1, 2015 By scrappy

Adding a postage stamp like edging to a border or panel is pretty simple using nothing but a hole punch.  It can stand alone in your design, or use it to complement the postage stamp punch, stamps or create a post card feel on your paper projects.  Visit the tips & tricks page to see how without having to add a ton of grid lines.
