Part I of a three part series on Paper Twine Cording on my scrapbooking page.  First segment is about embellishments and techniques, 2nd segment will be borders, backgrounds and panels and then, finally – I get to play with HATS!  yup… hats.  But first, omg, end of month AGAIN soooooooooooooo have to decide on product picks to play with this month and put together my Christmas Card Kit for July.  So much to do, so little time <- I use that a lot, but really does describe my life :)

Ink Blot Technique

Posted June 23, 2014 By scrappy

I spent last weekend playing with inks pads and water to create unique panels for my note cards and also a creative background for a scrapbook layout.  Both articles are complete and posted (1 on each the scrapbooking page and the paper crafts page) with the demonstration video linked on the video’s page under techniques (scrapbooking or paper crafts).   Incredibly easy and forgiving because if you don’t like your results – Blot again!

graduation layout

Your graduation page(s) needs to be one of the highlights of your scrapbook.  I’ve finished the article and also linked 2 videos – the first having to do with focusing on your photos, and the second more of layout considerations/embellishments for the companion pages… check out the article at my scrapbooking page, and also the step by step demonstrations on my videos page under scrapbooking techniques.

envelopes

Too easy to make envelopes out of the packing materials that you receive in your shipments.  The step by step video has been out on youtube for a bit, and I don’t have much to add in the article that I’ve posted on my tips and tricks page other than photos.  Free is good!

Again, so much to do and so little time…  For June – first off the XMAS card design is finished, and video’d and etsy’d! – check the link on the video’s page - Christmas.   I’m still progressing with the flip fancy fold card design samples and that video as well.  I just want to make more!  For the Stampin’ UP- crowd, yes – the new catalog and in-colors for the next 2 years are in and I LUV THEM!  itch’n to get started on projects, and I’m thinking back to some old designs with some new colors.  Stay tuned.

Flip fancy folds

money shot - get well soon

How much fun – and versatile…   Flip Fancy Fold Card design, F3 CD for short.  Any symmetrical framelit, designer series papers with a coordinating card stock and you are done and done.  So many reasons I am LOVING this card design – first off is the wow factor.  Keep the front subdued and “wow” the interior.   Second is the way you can use patterned papers and coordinating card stocks. Thirdly,  make 2 cards (with leftovers) from a single piece of 8 1/2x 11 cardstock and lastly – the base card is always the same cut and score!  So switch out your patterned papers, framelit and make a TOTALLY different card.

June for Stampin’ UP means the release of a new catalog and New IN-COLORS (which you can count on being around for the next two years)!  Best get them all early for your card making and/or scrapbooking which is why they are all my product picks for June (see my home page).   I’ve been hoping for a dark green this time around – more regal than the Mossy Meadow that has been introduced.  But you know – Mellow Moss was one of my all time favorites, so I’m getting a little stoked about this new green.  Of course, purple is always appreciated and I think quite possible, Blackberry Bliss might be a new favorite.  As far as the other 3 new In-colors for this catalog – I’m willing to reserve judgement – but, Lost Lagoon?!?  think the last thing they needed was another ocean blue color in their collections…   Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist, Pool Party, and Soft Sky are already blue, blue green, aqua, light blue……
