winter frost paperReceived my Stampin’ UP order today and, well, it feels like Christmas – but had to share the first of my new supplies that immediately knocked my socks off.  I have to start reading a little closer, but I had no idea that there were two specialty papers included that incorporate silver into the pattern.   These papers (Winter Frost 132341) and a Bermuda Bay Ink Pad (131171) and you will be ready to go with your Christmas scrapbook pages, cards and homemade gifts.  Done and done and the coordinating papers make it a no brainer.   Have to also mention that the ‘cardboard’ that these papers are packed with is an a-typical thick cardboard – so a free12 x 12 piece of chip board!…. you know me, plan to save that and make use of it with my bigshot!   I don’t think you’ll be disappointed – to order, visit the shop tab and click on the highlighted  ”My Stampin UP website”, right at the top with the item number handy.   Happy scrapp’n.

The bright side to having an incredibly boring early NFL game is I took time to put together the structure for my 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 shadow box greeting card.  see the article and photos on my paper crafting tab.  It is easier than it looks and I will for SURE be designing a Christmas Card kit utilizing these mechanics.

4 piecingI’m busy playing with a radiant background for my scrapbook pages.  It’s actually a little trickier than it looks – BUT, the good news is that I’m learning as I go and already have a lot of helpful hints accumulated to make it MUCH easier to replicate.  Keep an eye out, as this technique is incredibly popular right now and you don’t need a lot of templates and gadgets to use it in your own scrapbooking.  So, working on a B2E layout, but will also create a scrapbooking techniques video as there are so many ways to incorporate this design in scrapbooks and cards.

Was totally blown away again today with another multi-photo 2 page layout scrapbook design.  So, rather than tossing the photos into the blog I decided to pop in an article onto my scrapbooking tab covering the 2 layout designs.  Incredibly unique and geometrically just work to make the photographs the focal point of your pages.  I DO plan to emulate the layouts in my own scrapbooking and would luv to see any of your finished pages as well.  Please do not forget my community page to share your finished projects.

product defectAlways a good thing to know that your suppliers are reasonable, or beyond, when you purchase something from them that is not “quite right”.  Noticed that I received a pack of doilies that had a problem (not thoroughly embossed) in one of the corners.  I emailed them along with this photo explaining the defect and asking them how I needed to proceed.  Within 24 hours, they emailed back an apology AND a replacement invoice that a replacement is already on its way to me.   Thumbs up to Paperwishes!  (I go to them for most of my “bling” crafting supplies).

I’m always researching products and layouts, and I think I’ve mentioned before the weekly webisodes on paperwishes.com.  I was so impressed with this 2 page scrapbook layout, that I had to pause the video andomg 1 omg 2post it in my own blog.  I wish I had designed this myself.   Why I think it works is that it uses an incredibly busy background paper, breaks it up with a tone on tone paper – matting and embellishments are beautiful AND (this is a big “AND”) allows for multiple photos that are positioned just perfectly.   Wow is all I can say.   From a design standpoint this IS a masterpiece.  Your eye is immediately drawn to the photographs – which is the point in scrapbooking, secondly to the unassuming title and lastly to the journaling.  Brilliant and a layout I will be emulating in my own scrapbook soon!

Christmas bling postI’m soooo ready to start playing with my Christmas products.  Don’t know about yo’all, but for me Christmas Scrapbook layouts, Christmas Cards and Christmas gift tags are all about sparkle.  So I’m trying a bevy of products that I’ve never used before to begin to play with – and hopefully find some that I can create videos of and recommend.  I have to start early to be able to get it out there for you to begin creating.   Keep an eye out as I expect the techniques and project ideas are going to fly.  Just as a personal note – I’ve been looking for a metallic product to use in my scrapbooking that DOES not require a heat embossing to set, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that the “Glitter Dust” is just what I’ve been looking for.
