03 leaves they are a changing0201 real redCan u believe it?  August is just about finished and I am caught between a rock and a hard place.  September product pics and my Sept Christmas card design.   This will be my first Autumn in GA, so I’m more than curious to see how my foliage is fix’n to transform… but on a more relevant note: Organization vs Paper/Card Stock manipulation is on my mind for my Sept videos and product picks for the month.   The holidays will be here before you know it…. and I would recommend you take another look at my home page, as these Stampin’ UP products for August will last you for years, actually, a decade and you will grab them out of your inventory of tools always!  So, my dilemma is organization vs. paper/card stock/ribbon manipulation to make the most of your supplies.   Product Picks will support the latter, but my videos will support both – as I feel September is a month or re-organizing and getting ready for the end of year holiday season!  … oh, yes – a little sprinkling of what to do with all those “Back to School” memories.  Been there and done that, so have a few tricks to save those very precious school and class photos as well.  Needless to say, a very busy September ahead.  Check back as often as you can.

base cardstock treatment paint system drawbackI am really excited with this product and hoping you’ve watched the “In a Word” Wall Frame video – Am moving onto a scrapbook layout (first photo) using my whisper white cardstock.  A little different since it does have a gloss to it.  Started to get a little concerned since, if you check out the second photo, the first two products are running lower than the iron/decadence mists.  I’ve done a little checking and the Tattered Angel products are available through amazon.com as well as paperwishes.com.  I would suggest doing a little comparison shopping.  At the moment I’m enthralled with the metallic and I am hoping, stone look, since I do a lot of scrapbook layouts for my gemstones and cabochons, but I think these would be great products to use if you’re having to create masculine scrapbook layouts or cards.  Eeeks – there are other families besides the base metal and precious metal that I have already!

Both my thumbs are up for this product: http://scrapbookingstation.com/paper-crafts to see the article and a link to the beginning to end video.  I am very quickly running for my scrapbooks to incorporate these into my layouts.  Just a peek at the techniques I cover:

welcomeHope everyone is enjoying their summer!  I’ve been busy having visits from family before they get back to their studies, so have been a little slow on posts/videos.  Should be a quiet autumn for me, so I’m hoping to start really putting out techniques and projects building up to the holidays… and some great scrapbook pages from this summer.  Here’s a sneak peek at a work in progress and hopefully finished paper craft project video and article before the start of a new week.

Never thought ironing could be creative – but it is when you’re using wax paper to create a one-of-a-kind look for your scrapbook layouts.  I’m still playing with the brayer, but in my latest video first apply some texture to the plain white card stock.  It’s fast, easy and every pattern will be unique (and a surprise since you really cannot see the wax image until you’ve inked).  Check it out under my scrapbook tab.

blog ink pad replacement photosLast month I was bragging about my 10 year old stamp pads that are still ready to go… this month, I’m going to brag about how great it is to be able to purchase products from the source – because they stand behind everything they sell.  My Bravo Burgandy and Riding Hood Red stamp pads were becoming incredibly discolored, they had plenty of ink, but the gold was bleeding up to the surface of the pad and making them “look” like a disaster.  I sent an email to Stampin’ UP customer service and the next day I had replacement ink pads on the way!  You cannot do that with a purchase from a craft store – yes, like most of my supplies, I’ve had these ink pads for several (more than two) years.  Luv’n it!

A Stampin’ UP update: The 2013 Holiday Catalog is here and available for ordering.  Click the link to download to your computer in PDF format.  I’ve only glanced through it a couple of times myself, hoping to find time this weekend to really take a good look!

Finished uploading my video and article on my latest scrapbook layout.  Visit my scrapbooking tab to read all about it (also with a link to the video to watch the demonstration).  As promised, it is all about using a brayer to add artistic techniques to your scrapbooking.
