sketch challenge #1

Posted March 5, 2016 By scrappy

Sketches can be a great inspiration for your scrapbook pages, I’m using them more of late since I participate on a message board.    This first sketch is for a two page layout, going to let you take a look at it (come up with your own pages) before sharing mine.  Check out the scrapbooking tab for the sketch.

interesting photo mats

If you’ve not visited my Tips and Tricks tab, you need to from time to time – as I’m creating my youtube video’s and articles, I sometimes just pick out some ‘gems’ that have very little to do with the technique or design that I’m working on at the time – just really great ideas that are generic to whatever you’re working on.

Grunge I

Posted October 16, 2014 By scrappy

I’ve listed some of my favorite techniques for creating titles and journaling consistent with a “Grunge” style layout in an article on the scrapbooking page.   This is the first in a grunge series for scrapbookers.

Paper Inlay

Posted September 4, 2014 By scrappy

Something a bit different and a technique that lets you mix and match all of your framelits (I’m still playing with punches as well).  We all luv the layered look….  how ’bout a look that is as striking in a single layer?!  This has to appeal to scrapbookers, but the cards you make can sometimes ‘pile up’ as well.  I’m just getting started – check out the latest article on my scrapbooking page.

Spot Light technique

Posted September 4, 2014 By scrappy

Have you ever lost your kids in their group or action photographs?  You’ve finished with your scrapbook page and think you’ve lost the focus of what was going on/the event?  Try this spotlight technique in your scrapbook layout of sporting events, school activities, and family get-togethers to highlight what’s important.   Scrapbooking page article – spot light

Challenge

Posted July 14, 2014 By scrappy

Just in case you wanted to try something a little different, I’ve presented a challenge that’s a bit out of the ordinary.  Color and Color coordination is one of the key elements all card makers and scrapbookers use in their creations.  So what happens if I were to remove color (including metallics) from your arsenal?  Check out the latest article on my paper crafts page (White Make Over Challenge) to flex your creative muscles!

Part I of a three part series on Paper Twine Cording on my scrapbooking page.  First segment is about embellishments and techniques, 2nd segment will be borders, backgrounds and panels and then, finally – I get to play with HATS!  yup… hats.  But first, omg, end of month AGAIN soooooooooooooo have to decide on product picks to play with this month and put together my Christmas Card Kit for July.  So much to do, so little time <- I use that a lot, but really does describe my life :)

Ink Blot Technique

Posted June 23, 2014 By scrappy

I spent last weekend playing with inks pads and water to create unique panels for my note cards and also a creative background for a scrapbook layout.  Both articles are complete and posted (1 on each the scrapbooking page and the paper crafts page) with the demonstration video linked on the video’s page under techniques (scrapbooking or paper crafts).   Incredibly easy and forgiving because if you don’t like your results – Blot again!
